This forum, like most any other internet forum, is one of discussion based on folks opinions. There are some who THINK that by posting links to material which supports their opinion is a certain winner. They even THINK that if the person that they are in discussion with does not post contradicting material, they are even more certain that the world will declare them the winner.

There are more than two sides to a discussion, there are many, each of us with a different opinion has an opportunity to voice it. To declare themselves winners is a touch vain. However, it far more vain for someone to declare their opponent a loser.

For someone to come to the defense of a person, would that person not have to mention the person they are defending by name. For example:

I do not see them mentioning Deidre by name, but answering to what they seem is an unacceptable answer. That sounds like an normal debate.

Now Deidre dear the objections to Fox News is not that they criticize President Obama. If that was the case President Obama would not appear in front of any news media because they all criticize him.

Well lets see if this will hold up. Fox News is the cheerleader for conservatives so you say there are about 2.25 million viewers which is more than CNN and MSNBC combined. Ok that's about 1,592,000 viewers for CNN and MSNBC. But let's see whar happens when we add the 553,000 viewers of CNN's sister network Headline News. Well what do you know that's about 2,145,000 viewers. Pretty close to Fox isn't it. But now lets see how Fox stacks up compared to the 9.444 million viewers for NBC, the 8.187 viewers of ABC news and the 6.750 million viewers of CBS.

How is Fox stacking up now Share? Not too good are they if there are about 35.1 million people watching news and Fox only has about 6% of them. But let's look at it another way. The people watching Fox News represent .9% of people over 18 in this nation.

Lou Dobbs is announcing his last program on CNN. For some that will have some signigance and should be news.

 

It hasn't been announced but there is a possibility Lou Dobbs will join Glenn Beck and switch to Fox News.

Loving this. The AMA has come out and said they support actual testing of marijuana to look at whether the value of medical marijuana in controlled studies.

Just because people watch FOX doesnt mean they take it as the gospel. saying FOX has 2.25 million viewers means just that...2.25 million viewers, not 2.25 million people who believe every word they say.

Also, The 30% from CNN and the 10% from MSN together are far more than the 2% for FOX so its not like everyone is deciding to stop watching their station and start watching FOX.

News stations on TV arent the only place to get information. Back before internet was this huge and TV was the main source of information you would more of a point. But people can read about whatever they want online, or they can watch the same news that you watch on the TV via internet streams. Then there are also those people who watch more than one network. There is only one big republican station like stumbler said while there are multiple libral ones which apperently add up to ~2.1M. other stations like ABC and CBS. im sure the list continues but the bottom line is that the number of viwers and the % they are up or down is a statistic which everyone knows can be twisted and twisted to prove any opinion. without seeing a BUNCH of other things alongside thost numbers you cant draw a valid conclusion.
